Frequently asked questions

Spend some time browsing our inspiring selection of coach tours and river cruises. Once you have chosen the one that’s right for you, click on the link Book Now, fill it in and submit to us. It is very simple. Your enquiry will be reviewed by one of our travel consultants who will be assigned to look after you from there. You will receive the direct contact details of your personal consultant assigned to you when you get your first response back from us. This ensures you can get in touch if the need arises.

You will receive a personalised invoice by email, usually within the same day. Should you have any questions, your personal travel consultant can answer them at this time. The quote will contain all the information you need about your chosen tour. If you decide to book, can pay your deposit securely online via credit card or directly into our bank account.

Once your tour booking has been confirmed, your booking advice will be emailed to you. This will include the amount owing and any extra important tour details. Your balance will be payable between 45-60 days before the start date of your tour depending on the tour you have booked.

We will email your tour itinerary and arrival instructions directly to you once we have your flight details and personal details confirmed. Then depending on which tour you have booked, your tour documents, vouchers, travel bag and/or travel wallets will either be:

  • posted to you around three weeks before your departure date

  • handed to you at the airport by the representative who meets you

  • handed to you by your coach captain on arrival at your tour accommodation

  • delivered to the hotel or address you are staying at prior to your tour

Rest assured, we will look after you so you can get on with enjoying your adventure!

If we were in your shoes, we would get straight into the fun stuff of browsing our range of sensational tours right now and skip this bit. However, if you feel you need convincing, then let us remind you of how other people book their tours. There are those who walk into their local travel agency office, wait their turn and sift through a pile of brochures only to be presented with premium prices they weren’t expecting. Others book online with a company that sells them a product and then leaves them in limbo or even worse, stranded. We save you the heartache of all of that. We encourage you take your time to browse our product range from the comfort of your home or office at a time that suits you and relax knowing that you are getting the best price available. With us you get the best of both worlds – you get to browse and book great value tours at your leisure with the support and advice from your own personal travel consultant.

You are personally responsible for arranging all the necessary visas prior to your tour departure. We are not authorised to do this for you. Whether you need a visa to enter a foreign country depends on our nationality. Please be aware that some visas can take up to six weeks to process. Below is some basic information to get you started. Please note that this information may change at any time.

Visa for the US - travelling and in transit

Whether you are travelling in the United States or merely transiting through a US airport, you will need to be approved via an automated service prior to entering. All Australian passport holders need an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) approval before leaving home. An ESTA is an automated system that determines your eligibility to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. Once you are approved under the Visa Waiver Program you are able to travel in the United States for up to 90 days without obtaining a visa. It is simple to apply, just have your passport and itinerary handy and complete the form here: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/. There is currently no application fee.

Visas - Travel to Australia

All travellers into Australia except those holding Australian or New Zealand passports require a visa or an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority).

What is an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA)?
An ETA is equivalent to a visa, but there is no stamp or label in your passport and there is no need for you to visit an Australian diplomatic office to submit an application. Once approved, your ETA works as an electronically stored authority for short-term visits to Australia of up to 3 months. ETA’s are available to passport holders from 32 countries and regions. Applications must be lodged by travellers outside Australia and can be completed easily online {LINK}. In most cases your ETA will be approved in less than a minute. Your approved application is then stored on the Australian Government computer system. Upon departure of your flight to Australia, the airline check-in staff will confirm that you have authority to board a flight to Australia. If you require help lodging your ETA, your Discover Tour and Cruise personal travel consultant can help.

Am I Eligible for an ETA?
You are eligible to apply for an ETA while you are outside of Australia and if you carry an ETA-eligible passport below. If you do not meet these criteria, then you should contact your nearest
